Vanessa Pierce is a writer/editor, an athlete, and an advocate of women getting outside and playing sports. A former Division 1 collegiate athlete, Vanessa co-founded SheJumps as a 501c(3) nonprofit in 2007 with Claire Smallwood and Lynsey Dyer. She has 10 years of journalism experience as staff writer/editor/freelancer for publications such as Ski Racing magazine, Aspen Daily News, Skiing, Powder, Outside, The Seattle Times, The Washington Times, among many others. When she isn’t skiing, Vanessa is mountain biking, hiking, fly fishing, and flying planes (she has her private, instrument and seaplane license/ratings), and will eventually be SheJumps’ in-house pilot.
